Phil Knox, YFC’s church resource director told Premier Youthwork: ‘I’m incredibly excited. YFC’s focus is on helping young people to meet with Jesus and Neil is an evangelist. The board’s appointment shows that this remains their priority. He is going to keep evangelism front and centre - I’m excited about where he’s going to take us next.’
In a statement, Geordon Rendle, president of YFC International, and Ken Wright, chair of British Youth for Christ said: ‘Neil’s clear calling as an evangelist and his extensive experience of YFC ministries across the world over 23 years will be invaluable assets in leading BYFC into the next chapter of its mission to take the good news of Jesus relevantly to every young person in Britain. We recognise that Neil’s move will be a big loss to YFCI and he and his family will be greatly missed. He has done a great job in introducing new evangelistic initiatives and developing the shape and strength of international field ministries. Neil will take up his new appointment at the beginning of August. Please do stand with us by praying for Neil and his family as they prepare for the move and all that it will entail.’ Premier Youthwork will be speaking to Neil in a feature-length interview next month.
