Nothing brightens our day like a hilarious tweet appearing on our timelines from absolutely nowhere. Our current favourites are Faces in Things (@FacesPics), as seen in this picture and Friends Fan (@FriendsFan3) - a user sharing the experiences of watching Friends for the first time (well, kind of). In essence, Twitter is great for finding out about people’s lives and pictures of quotes over clouds, but we’re more interested in whimsy.

 

BURGERS

Welcome to the year of the burger. The humble beef patty has gone from fast food laughing stock to cool snack of choice in recent months, thanks to some creative chains offering juicy, meaty, succulent, exquisite, meaty, tasty, delicious, meaty treats. Sorry... we lost ourselves for a minute there.

The book, the film, THE EMOTIONS. Look, we just saw the film and we can’t think of much to say right now. We’re not crying. Seriously. It’s just raining on our faces.

 

 

 

 

DRAMALITY TV

Here’s the thing – TV shows based on reality are all well and good, but reality can sometimes be a wee bit dull can’t it? Fortunately, shows such as The Only Way is Essex and Made in Chelsea spice up reality a bit – and that’s what makes them so entertaining. We incorporated this into office life this month. Caleb: ‘Who used up the last of the milk?’ [Camera cuts to nervous looking Fope drinking a cup of tea, while Jasmin plays dramatic music on the trombone. End scene.] 

 

OVER-SIZED HAND LUGGAGE

We’ve noticed a pretty worrying trend – people using suitcases as hand luggage. What do these people need on planes? Surely a book and a phone will do. Unless you have a small child in need of sheets, clothes, nappies, dummies, milk and toys there is just no good excuse. New rule – if you can’t pick it up with your teeth, it can’t be used as hand luggage.

 

 

 

 

 

NORTH WEST

Celebrity mega-couple Kanye West and Kim Kardashian surprised us all by calling their baby girl ‘North’, giving her the full name North West. Previously only a direction, North West is now also an acceptable girl’s name, apparently. Hopefully they’ll find another baby North for her to play with - then we’ll have North by North West. 

 

 

 

GODZILLA

(Failed it!)

Look, the new Godzilla was good - don’t get us wrong. But where were the big fights? Every time a monster took on another monster, the camera cut away, merely showing us the devastation caused in the wake of the fight. We wanted destruction, action and carnage; instead we got clean-up operations. THAT’S NOT WHAT WE’RE HERE FOR. Give us fake dinosaurs fighting with their tiny arms!

 

 

WEIRD MEN’S HAIR

When did it become acceptable to have a little quaff of hair in the middle of your head? It makes guys look like Iced Gems, and as tasty a treat as Iced Gems are, they’re not exactly the most stylish of snacks. Why not opt for a Toblerone (Mohican), or a broccoli (afro)? Even monks have been rocking a Hula Hoop style for years (nothing in the middle, ring round the outside).
