The results suggest that your age has more sway when it comes to defining your morality than your religion, gender, social grade or where you live.
Young people (16 to 34-year-olds) are more likely to struggle to identity right and wrong. This doesn’t mean that they are less moral, just that they struggle to articulate what that might look like.
Ruth Jackson spoke to various BBC radio stations about the survey. She explored whether a decline in religious belief among young people leads to a lack of moral framework and looked at how parenting and teaching has impacted Generation Z.
