    Internet pornography

    2017-01-19T00:00:00Z

This morning, David Cameron will announce new measures to combat the spread of Internet pornography, and particularly of images depicting rape and abuse. Sex Box

    2017-01-19T00:00:00Z

I remember stumbling across erotic fiction in my mid-teens. Every time I opened the book it was like white heat pouring from the page. It was scandalous. Daring. Exciting. I didn’t really know what any of it meant, but I knew one thing: the author loved the way sex melted two people into one. She craved the surrender that was at once both beautiful and terrifying.

    Girls in Gangs abused

    2017-01-19T00:00:00Z

A report from the Centre for Social Justice has shown that thousands of girls and young women experience brutality and exploitation as part of gang culture. The study, carried out with XLP, said that sexual exploitation, guns and drug-running are ‘a daily reality’ for thousands of young women. The report, entitled ‘Girls and Gangs’, calls for urgent action to fight the problem, criticising the Home Office for not doing enough to fight gang culture since the 2011 riots.

Girls as Young as 11 sexually exploited

    2017-01-19T00:00:00Z

Two reports published by the Office of the Children’s Commissioner have warned that the level of sexual violence in neighbourhoods dominated by gangs and gang culture is comparable to that of a warzone. Professor Jenny Pearce, author of one of the reports entitled It’s wrong… but you get used to it, said: ‘In some areas the level of sexual violence and the types of violence inflicted are comparable to how sexual violence is used in war-torn territories.’
